Mr. and Mrs. Denny DeMatteis of Raleigh announce the engagement of their son, Alan Ward, to Amy Leigh Paetz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Juergen Paetz of Huntsville, AL. Mr. DeMatteis received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is employed by Ernst and Young LLP in Atlanta, GA. Miss Paetz received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting from the University of Alabama. She is employed by The Home Depot in Atlanta. They will be married on August 1, 2009, in Smyrna, GA.
