Hartman-Wellons
Elizabeth Hobgood Wellons and Eric Lee Hartman, both of Atlanta, Georgia, were married on May 17, 2008 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Smithfield. The Very Reverend Robert Gustave Trache of Winchester, Massachusetts, officiated. A reception was held following the ceremony at the home of the bride' s parents. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hewitt Wellons of Smithfield. She is the granddaughter of Elmer James Wellons Jr. of Smithfield and the late Ruth Rose Wellons. She is also the granddaughter of the late Alfred Llewellyn Hobgood Jr. and the late Suefan Gooding Hobgood of Smithfield. Parents of the groom are Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Lonzo Hartman of Smithfield. He is the grandson of Martha Dubbs Ihrig of Cabot, Pennsylvania, and the late Herbert William Ihrig. He is also the grandson of the late Edwin Thomas Hartman and Lois Edna Hartman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Suefan Wellons Johnson of Raleigh, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Harmon Wellons, sister-in-law of the bride, of Raleigh; Susan Hartman Stewart, sister of the groom, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; Kristie Hartman Calvillo, sister of the groom, of Darien, Connecticut; Catherine Wray Barber of London, England; Alison Leigh Brown, Alyson Sutton Evans, and Elizabeth Hobgood Kass, cousin of the bride, all of New York, New York; Jennifer Lorraine Fuller of San Diego, California; Margaret Brantley Kopp of Chapel Hill; Elizabeth Boothby Krusen of Tampa, Florida; and Katherine Houstoun Schutt of Richmond, Virginia. Flower girls were Elizabeth Hewitt Johnson and Jane Ivey Johnson, nieces of the bride, of Raleigh. Dr. Hartman was his son' s best man. Groomsmen were Harry William Stewart III, brother-in-law of the groom, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; Sean Gorham Calvillo, brother-in-law of the groom, of Darien, Connecticut; Scott Norris Johnson, brother-in-law of the bride, Abram Hewitt Wellons, brother of the bride, Jeffrey Hamilton Cooke, and Justin Michael Lewis, all of Raleigh; James Reed Lawrence III of Mountain Brook, Alabama; Ryan Joseph Maxey of Oakland, California; John Dortch Lewis III of Knightdale; Benjamin Kyle Saylors of Goldsboro; and John Joseph Sauls of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Lectors were Leigh Ann Sellers and David Alex Paul. The bride is a graduate of Episocopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, and Wake Forest University, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She received her Master' s degree from Columbia University School of Social Work. The groom is a graduate of Wayne Country Day School in Goldsboro, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Gamma fraternity. He received his Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta, Georgia, where he is also a doctoral candidate. Following a wedding trip, the couple will reside in New York, New York.
