Lauren Ives Bingenheimer and Blake Bunting Smith were married on May 10, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Burlington. The Reverend Ronald L. Shive officated. A reception followed at Alamance Country Club. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Carlos Ashley of Greensboro, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles George Bingenheimer, Jr. of Burlington. Lauren is the granddaughter of Mrs. Philip Ross Hedrick of Charlotte and the late Mr. Hedrick, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles George Bingenheimer, Sr. of Burlington. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jeffrey Smith of Cary. He is the grandson of Ms. Charles Raymond Smith of Sarasota, Florida, and the late Mr. Smith, and the grandson of Mr. James Edward Wylie of Cary and the late Ms.Wylie. The bride is a graduate of Walter Williams High School in Burlington and of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. She is employed as Marketing Coordinator with Lappas+Havener in Durham. The groom is a graduate of Broughton High School and Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. He is employed as an Account Executive with Commercial Equipment Incorporated in Raleigh. The bride's sister, Nancee Elizabeth Bingenheimer, was maid of honor. Attendants were Lauren Livingston Brewer of Atlanta, Georgia; Candice Michelle Dixon of Graham; Jennifer Hunnicutt Church, Merritt Atkins Brinkley, Catherine Finch Tuttle, and Mary Katherine Humphries of Raleigh; and Mary Abernethy Brewer, Mary Smutney Queen, and Jennifer Lee Gaugher of Charlotte. The best man was Charles Jeffrey Smith, the groom's father. Groomsmen were Tyler Reidt Smith, brother of the groom, of James Island, South Carolina; Cyrus Edward Atkins of Asheville; Kenneth Merritt Atkins, Wesley Gilbert Bowman, James Robert Ransom Keeter, and Norman Hunter Wyche III of Raleigh; John Benjamin Moore of Charlotte; William Clay Thomas of Atlantic Beach; Harold Thomas Henry Wylie of Loveland, Ohio; and Robert Bunting Wylie of North Hollywood, California. Readers were Kathryn Brooke Ashley of Raleigh and William Craig Turner, Jr. of Burlington. Program attendants were Mary Beth Ashley of Raleigh, Haley Hedrick of Charlotte, and Lauren Hedrick of Wilmington. On Friday a bridemaids' luncheon was held at Alamance Country Club. On Friday evening the groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Loch Ridge Manor at Macintosh on the Lake. The couple will reside in Raleigh after a honeymoon in St. Lucia.
