Miss Amanda Joanne Furr and Mr. Jon Robert Jordan were married on May 16, 2009, at half past six in the evening at Figure Eight Island at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Garnett, grandparents of the bride. Reverend John Goodman, uncle of the groom, officiated the outdoor ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Alan Furr and also the granddaughter of Mrs. Judith Garnett and Mrs. Helen Furr-Smith. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jordan of West Jefferson and the grandson of Mrs. Bertha Jordan and the late Mr. Jordan of Fleetwood. He is also the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Goodman of West Jefferson. The matron of honor was Mrs. Jan Gregory of Albemarle, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Bernardin, cousin of the bride; Miss Amy Gardner, Miss Rachel Hawkins and Miss Robin Curtis of Columbia, SC; Mrs. Craig Morgan of Buckhannon, WV; Miss Laura Fiery of New York City, NY; and Miss Lauren Wint of Hartsville, SC. Anya and Lilia Garnett of Cary, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. Best men were Mr. Ray Jordan and Mr. Matt Gregory, brother-in-law of the groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Jeff Filer of Charlotte, Mr. Jaime Arnold of West Jefferson, Mr. Aaron Hodges of Asheville, Mr. Bryan Beard of Yadkinville, Mr. Craig Morgan of Buckhannon, WV, and Mr. Fabian Davis of Hampton, VA. Mr. Christopher Bernardin of Columbia, SC, and Mr. Christian Garnett of Cary, cousins of the bride, were junior ushers. The bride graduated from the University of South Carolina and is completing her master's at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a teacher for Charlotte-Mecklenburg. The groom graduated from Wake Forest University and the Wake Forest University School of Law. He is a corporate attorney. After a two-week honeymoon in Argentina, the couple will reside in Charlotte.
