Watkins-Bowman
Anna Blake Bowman of Raleigh and Stephen Britt Watkins of Durham were married on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Oxford United Methodist Church. The Reverend Patricia Freeman Hawkins officiated. A reception followed the ceremony at Henderson Country Club. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lynn Bowman of Oxford. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lanier of Rose Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bowman of Wallace. The groom is the son of Mrs. Pamela Harris Watkins of Oxford and the late Mr. Wilton Gill Watkins III. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Harris of Oxford and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Gill Watkins, Jr. of Henderson. Mrs. Morgan Stussie Norris of Raleigh served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Laura Allison Cox and Miss Lauren Elizabeth Ledbetter of Raleigh, Miss Abbe Leigh Pruitt of Charlotte, Miss Meredith Ann Watkins of Oxford, and Miss Kathryn Royall Williford of Greensboro. Flower girls were Miss Carson Emy McLendon of Hillsborough, Miss Emilee Susan Volpe and Miss Elizabeth Claire Volpe, both of Wake Forest. Mr. Michael Caldwell Bowman of Chapel Hill served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Camden Edward Carver and Mr. Wallace Timothy Cottrell III of Raleigh; Mr. Justin Lee Ellerman of Columbia, SC; Mr. Travis George Hampton of New York, NY; and Mr. Brian Drake Stallings of Raleigh. Master Cameron Ray McLendon of Hillsborough served as bell ringer. Miss Lauren Elizabeth Noblin of Raleigh and Miss Caroline Hope Noblin of Oxford served as register and program attendants. Music was provided by Mr. Christopher Alan Bagley, organist; Miss Cherry Beth Potthoff, trumpeter; and Miss Kathleen Marie Redmon, vocalist. The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in elementary education. She is a kindergarten teacher. The groom is a graduate of North Carolina State University with both bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting. He is an accountant. After a honeymoon trip to St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Durham.
