Hometown: Born in Rochester, New York, and lived in Chicago for a brief stint; but Raleigh is really my hometown. I pretty much grew up here. All of my schooling was done in Raleigh.

Your favorite drink: Sapphire and tonic. Those can get a little dangerous because I love them so much. Otherwise, craft beers from around the nation and world. It is really amazing what people can do with a beer these days.

Best movie ever: "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" ...yes with Kevin Costner. That and "The Boondock Saints." I like to think that both have a cult following.

Beer - Domestics or Imports: I mean, it's all about the quality. There are so many craft brews from around this nation. I love IPAs, but a good Belgian is never far from view.

Drink you least like to make: A damn mojito.

What you drink at the end of your shift: Bourbon. It helps me sleep ;)

Favorite song right now: I actually revisited the "Throwing Copper" album by Live and found a song that I never took notice to when it came out called "The Pillar of Davidson." It rocks, along with the rest of the album.

People drink too much: Water. But really, wine is awful in excess. People hit that plateau of agreeableness and then plummet. It often ends very sad. Also, domestic light beers. That could possibly be the worst of the worst. You can be a beer connoisseur and not spend a lot of money, compared to what wine connoisseurs spend.

People don't drink enough: Water. Craft brews. See above.

Drink for a cold winter night: An IPA or an aged stout with a Sambuca back. If you don't like black licorice, you won't like Sambuca. Fortunately I do. I only drink Sambuca in the winter time.

Favorite 80's sitcom: "Facts of Life." Or maybe "Saved By the Bell." Anything with Michael J. Fox. Sometimes I really try hard to forget the '80s, but not the music!

Interesting fact about you: I've had a beard for 4 years.

Other bars in the Triangle you have worked: Sawmill Tap Room and Tir na nOg Irish Pub.

Facebook or Twitter: Facebook.

The best thing about drinking in the Triangle: The friendly camaraderie of all the local bars and bar staff. We try to make it more of a community than a competition.

The worst thing about drinking in Triangle: The void between Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill.

A bartender's best friend is: People who have their money ready, make eye contact and tip well. I'm here for you. Help me make that experience one to remember.

Ever get a phone number while working? Some. Craigslist is even better. I have even had some missed connections in the M4M category. That's always good for a few comments.

Craziest thing you've seen while bartending: Umm... this is public, right? Let's just say the debauchery on New Year's Eve. Anything your disturbed minds can think of, I've seen it.

Favorite bar in the Triangle other than your own: Tir na nOg, The Raleigh Times, Landmark Tavern, bu•ku, Foundation and Havana Deluxe‎. Really any bar with a solid knowledge of beer and spirits.

The Busy Bee Cafe

Greg Cox says the Busy Bee is emphatically not your grandfather's -- or even your father's -- cafe.

Quotable

Colin says come to the Busy Bee because...

"The beer selection: Voted in the top 150 beer bars in North America by Draft Magazine. And the food. Chef Jeremy Clayman is not one to be forgotten. Simple with a slight southern flare, and a twist on every dish that really puts it over the top and makes it truly amazing."
