Monday's blah, but your week doesn't have to be. So, here are some hip haunts and choice events to hit up.

MAROON 5: If a looming Monday makes it seem “harder to breathe” on “Sunday Morning…and living life gets hard to do” roll over to Raleigh Amp, where this alt-pop-rock group‘ll “shroud us into moments unforgettable” as they premiere their upcoming September release “Hands All Over.” When: Aug. 17, 7pm. LIFE THROUGH QUILTS ARTISTS’ RECEPTION AND EXHIBITION: Blanket your soul as you view “life through quilts.” Join a cloak of community quilters as they showcase and celebrate their hand-crafted collection for an open artists’ reception as part of Third Friday Durham, where you’ll plod a patchwork of quilted collections by the African American Quilt Circle of Durham and meet the artists to tailor your knowledge of communal quilting practices. JIMMY V REVERSE RAFFLE & CHARITY BOWLING: Wednesday, stake your claim and help stack the stash in the fight to raise research reserves and find a cancer cure with a prize-packed reverse raffle and chance to win a BMW 138i. Then, Thursday, bowl over to The Alley and take aim at striking out cancer with a charity bowling event, where 25 bucks gets you all the bowling and brews you can swing with a side of Two Guys and King Pin Grill. 100% of proceeds to the V Foundation. CHIDDY BANG: Spend a night in “The Swelly Life” and channel some brotherly love as Philly’s self-described hip-hop-electronica-afrobeat-club-pop duo bring their alt hip-hop fusion to crank up the Cradle stage. JIMMY V CRUISE TO KEY WEST PARTY AND NIKE CUP/CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC: If you missed the midweek V events, take a mulligan and tee off the famed star-studded golf weekend with a pre-game voyage over to the Convention Center for a “Cruise to Key West” party with a purpose. Muddle through a few pre-game mojitos and Latin rhymes; then come ashore and slice up the green—or sit back for some star gazing—as 26 fivesomes swing the unparalleled celeb fundraiser into action to gain ground on cancer research.
