TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD: Harper Lee's famed Finches turn 50! Scoot over to Murphey School and "scout" a storied scene of social commentary, when Burning Coal Theatre Company and Manhattan-based director Randolph Curtis Rand raise the curtain on Christopher Sergel's heartfelt and haunting telling of the inspiring and controversial Pulitzer Prize-winning tale to toast its golden anniversary. BANNED BOOKS ONSTAGE (2ND ANNUAL): Book over to Durham County Library salute a staged triumph in the war on words and bask in your right to read all books as a talented troupe thumbs through a catalog of clips from the challenged or banned under the direction of Jay O'Berski and Dana Marks, and featuring a scene by Stephanie Meyer from the recent '09 addition to the challenged book list, "Twilight." JOEL LANE LECTURE: Don your best "blue coat" for a revolutionary rap at "Father of Raleigh's" restored landmark manor as history-buff James T.
