Tonight is First Friday and we’ve made our picks. See which galleries you don’t want to miss!

LOCAL COLOR GALLERY

"Glass and Sass," featuring Lizzie Bailey and Adrien Montoya | 6-9 p.m. | Runs through October 26, Thursdays-Saturdays 11-3 p.m.

“Lizzie Bailey and Adrien Montoya are the featured artists this month at local color Gallery, a co-op of 13 talented women. For this month’s First Friday, we have ‘Glass and a lot of Sass.’ This show is a combination of Stained glass by Lizzie Bailey and Mixed Media by Adrien Montoya. Very unique and colorfull — it’s a must-see.”

BUSY BEE

Second-Annual First Friday with Megan Gulledge | 5-10 p.m. | Runs through October

“Megan will be here from 5-10 p.m. to discuss ‘To whom this may concern’ — her exploration of the similarities she sees in her work and that of songwriters. The show will be up for the entire month, but First Friday is the only night to enjoy free Counter Culture coffee from 5-10 p.m. and a free show from Amy Echstenkamper and the Clay Pigeons at 7 p.m.”

ADAM CAVE FINE ART

"Metropolitans," new work by Will Goodyear & Annemarie Gugelmann | 6-9 p.m. | On display Tuesdays-Saturdays from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. through October 30

“Both of these young Triangle-based artists are major rising talents here in Raleigh. Will has just completed his MFA at ECU, and his multi-layered works reflect an interest in everything from urban life to North Carolina history. Annemarie Gugelmann is participating in her first gallery exhibit since receiving an emerging artist grant from the Durham Art Guild. Her paintings of crowds and city architecture are equally dynamic, and she has also just begun graduate school at the Rhode Island School of Design.”

FISH MARKET

Open Call Show | 6-11 p.m. | Fish Market will be open with this exhibit from 1-4 p.m. on the following Saturday and Sunday and by appointment the following week.

“Fish Market puts on an Open Call Show once every semester, and it's not one to miss! NCSU College of Design students, faculty and staff submit to this show unencumbered by a theme, resulting in a large and diverse group of art and design that is representative of the College of Design at this moment in time.”

— Griffin Friedman, director, Fish Market

DESIGNBOX: Hello Raleigh Denim | 7-10 p.m. | Runs for 30 days

"We're really excited to welcome our new neighbors Raleigh Denim to downtown Raleigh and encourage everyone to stop by and view their line of jeans and the Designbox office. Designbox Gallery marks Raleigh Denim's historical new office and production facility next to Designbox in the art warehouse district. Raleigh Denim, a national phenomenon, will display their line of designer jeans during First Friday at Designbox. Meet the designers, Victor and Sarah Lytvinenko, and members of their team. Come out and help us welcome them to our neighborhood."
