Check out our top events for the week:

“SUN IS SHINING” REGGAE PARTY: If “Seinfeld” writer Dan O’Keefe pictured you doing one thing on Festivus, it had to be shaking your rump. So, head over to Mosaic Wine et Lounge and stuff a little Rasta into your fiesta and indulge in a little “Festivus for the rest of us” — and if you’re really in the spirit to brew up some jolly Jamaican fun, you can suck down a Red Stripe, too. Featuring DJs Mooney, Feinberg and guest. When: Dec. 23, 9 p.m. - 2 a.m. More info

MOSCOW BALLET GREAT RUSSIAN NUTCRACKER: If you missed Carolina Ballet’s pirouetting performance of the “Nutcracker” last week, let a throng of sauté-ing Saschas remind you that Russia is good for something other than Vodka—like men (and women) in tights. Show at the Durham Performing Arts Center. When: Dec. 22, 8 p.m. Tickets from $29.50. More info

NORTH CAROLINA BOYS CHOIR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CONCERT: It may not be the news-stirring frenzy of Gwyneth Paltrow returning as Holly Holiday on “Glee,” but if you need a sort of “gleeky” fix, get a dose at Duke on Monday, while you get your Christmas on, too. When: Dec. 20, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Adults $15, Seniors $12, Children 12-and-under $8. More info

LIGHTS ON THE NEUSE: Clearly it’s not Christmas until you get pulled behind a tractor. So, if you haven’t been on a holiday hayride yet, hit up the banks of the Neuse, and take your turn on the open sleigh (with arguably a little more than one-horse horsepower). Frolic through lighted festive fields and nativity scenes, a 3D Christmas barn and Santa’s Sweet Shoppe. Then, save room for the red-clad big-bellied benefactor himself. But keep your eye on mommy — wouldn’t want her to run off and fulfill that lifelong fantasy of kissing Santa Claus. When: Dec. 20-23, 6-9 p.m., Dec. 24 6-8 p.m. Adults $10, Children age 3 to 11, $7, Children 2-and-under, free. More info

THE RECORD: CONTEMPORARY ART AND VINYL: Needle over to the Nasher and spin back to a time when records were good for more than just scratching with this avant-garde look at the culture of vinyl through 41 global artists from the '60s to now who play up those vintage vinyls as subject or medium. When: Through Feb. 6. Museum hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10-5; Thrusday 10-9 (free to all on Thursday from 5p-9p, courtesy of SunTrust Bank and the “Indy”); Sunday 12p-5p. General admission $5, Seniors $4, Members of Duke Alumni Association $4 (with membership card), non-Duke students with ID $3. Children under 16; museum members; Duke University students, faculty and staff with ID, FREE. More info
