This week meet Brandon Marshburn. Hailing from the Hill — Pink Hill that is — this small-town-bred sipster is dripping with Southern charm. Never short a smile, the perma-grin pourer gets his kicks on life’s simplest pleasures. Schooled in mechanical engineering and four years deep on the Raleigh pub scene, his prowess spans from pickups to pick-me-ups, and for now, his passion is people-pleasing at The Oxford, where he’s been lighting up the rails and decorating the bar — and probably making broads blush with that sexy smile — for over a year.

Hometown: Pink Hill, North Carolina.

What do you miss the most about living in a small town? Family and the nighttime sky.

And the least? That there are no bars!

If you have a drink in your hand, it's probably a: Magic Hat #9.

Drink you could make with your eyes closed: Long Island Iced Tea.

One word coworkers use to describe you: Hardworking.

If you had to, which of your coworkers would you trip and why? Weston, because he just deserves it!

If they made a movie about your life, who would play you? Matthew McConaughey.

If we turn on your TV, it's likely on what channel? Discovery or History.

Movie you can recite the lines of: “Joe Dirt.”

If you didn't know better, you'd think this song was written about you: “Simple Man” [by Lynyrd Skynyrd].

Concert you wouldn't be caught dead at: Ke$ha.

If you could have a drink with anyone, who would it be and why? Adam Sandler, because it would be a fun, witty conversation to have. And it would just be cool.

Fav sports team(s): North Carolina State University and Carolina Panthers.

If you could come back as anyone, who would you want to be and why: My father, because he is the best man that I know.

One thing you refuse to do under any circumstances: Smoke cigarettes.

One thing you'd easily do for the right cost: Be a male stripper for a private female party.

Pet peeve: Stupid people.

Most random thing you've been asked to do while bartending? Sell my boxers!

What one thing do you wish you could tell people about patronizing any bar? Respect the bartenders because they are the ones making your drinks.

Other bars in the Triangle you have worked: Red Robin in Cary and the Marriott in downtown Raleigh.

If you're not at work, you're most likely: At home reading or playing with my dog.

Fav bar in the Triangle other than your own: Ruckus Pizza at Mission Valley.
