Since there are a lot of fun happenings taking place in downtown Raleigh this weekend (per usual), it's important to dress to impress, yet stay comfortable and versatile. If you're wondering what to wear to these hip events, I browsed through my closet for a couple chic options:

Raleigh Pub Crawl & Haunted Adventure Friday Edition | Friday, Sept. 14 - 7:30 p.m. Starts at Busy Bee Cafe

This unique event is a walking bar tour spanning a one-mile radius of downtown Raleigh's hottest new social spots. Since the pub crawl is on foot, keep your mind off your feet and more on the delicious cocktails with these wardrobe choices:

Flats: Fashionable flats are the way to go. Try a patterned shoe (like leopard print), or an eye-catching bright color, such as red or yellow.

Dress: It will still feel like the middle of summer this weekend, so a cute sundress is your best option, coupled with a blazer or little button-up sweater for when the sun goes down.

Hair: Keep your hair out of your face, given you'll be tasting the city's best drinks. Try the now back-in-style, trendy bun or fishtail braid. Spice it up with a braided, hippie-style headband.

Blondes vs. Brunettes Raleigh Benefit | Saturday, Sept 15 - 6 to 9 p.m. Architect Bar and Social House

This event is a Little Black Dress Vodka End of the Summer Soiree to Benefit Alzheimer’s Disease. Here are some choices:

Dress (Ladies): It's a black-dress affair, so, naturally, your best choice is a classy and sophisticated, yet somewhat sassy, LBD (little black dress, of course). Dress "outside the box," too — try lace or other textured fabric, a high-low length, shoulder pads, low-back or other unique twists to the normal, somewhat boring LBD.

Accessories: Always complement a simple, all-black LBD with statement accessories that make your outfit "pop" like big, textured and/or colorful earrings, necklaces and rings (not all at the same time).

Hair: Again, a simple look calls for "louder" hair and makeup. Try beach waves and a hot pink or red lip.

Shoes: Color your look with bright-colored pumps: hot pink, red, yellow, green, blue ... you get the point.

Have fun this weekend. I know you'll look fashionable for either occasion!
