Before joining Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were a folksy duo playing country-rock that was long on bucolic overtones and vocal harmonies. And Coyotes (Redeye Distribution), the third album by local trio Birds and Arrows, recalls nothing so much as 1973s cult classic Buckingham Nicks. With production from the great Chris Stamey, the albums pastoral songs center on the deeply emotional blend of Andrea and Pete Connollys intertwined voices, with Josh Starmers cello as sonic counterpoint. Its a lovely and intimate little record, and Birds and Arrows will show it off Friday at Chapel Hills Local 506. Showtime is 8 p.m., cover is $8 and the bill also includes June Star and Katharine Whalen. See local506.com for details.
