Bridal trunk shows and shopping help for guys

Brides-to-be can see some of the latest gowns by both regional and major national designers during a couple of trunk shows this week:

Savvi Formalwear in Raleigh will host a David Tutera for Mon Cheri trunk show Thursday-Monday. The collection features bridal gowns inspired the celebrity wedding planner. To make an appointment, call 919-783-8911.

Traditions by Anna bridal boutique in Raleigh will have bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses from Lula Kate in store for a trunk show on Friday and Saturday. The Charleston-made dresses are customizable with bridal gowns ranging from $1,600-$4,000 and bridesmaid dresses from $200-$350. To reserve an appointment, call 919-783-8652.

Jewelry trunk show

Bailey’s Fine Jewelry in Cameron Village will have new pieces from the Temple St. Clair jewelry line in store for a trunk show, Thursday and Friday. The collection features earrings, necklaces and more in gold with colored gemstones. For more info, call 919-829-7337.

Just for the guys

Men can get a little help choosing gifts for the ladies in their lives at Ann Taylor in Cameron Village and Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh and at the Streets at Southpoint in Durham during the store’s Just for the Guys event on Thursday. From 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cameron Village and Streets at Southpoint stores and 6-9 p.m. at the Crabtree Valley location, men can get shopping tips from stylists, enjoy drinks, gift drawings and more. Open house benefits animals

Revolver Boutique, Cat Banjo and other tenants of the Tarlton Building in Raleigh’s Glenwood South will stay open late on Thursday for a holiday open house. From 6-10 p.m., the shops will serve cookies and hot cider, plus grilled cheese sandwiches from American Meltdown. Local animal rescue Pawfect Match will have dogs available for adoption at the event, and photos with Santa will be available for a $10 donation to Pawfect Match. For details, call 919-615-1428.

Gypsy Jule is open

Gypsy Jule boutique, which was previously in Glenwood South before going online-only for a while, is back with a brick-and-mortar shop in Apex. Dubbed “A Misfit Mercantile,” the shop features clothing, boots, furniture and home décor, including many items created by local artisans. The boutique is located at 1510 N.
